YouTube to X Auto-Poster — AI Cross-Promotion Workflow

Overview

Content creators often forget to promote new videos across platforms. This n8n workflow automates that step: whenever a new video goes live on a YouTube channel, a short, engaging post announcing it is published to X (Twitter).

How it works

A schedule trigger runs every 30 minutes and queries the YouTube Data API for videos from the configured channel published within that same window. Matching the polling interval to the lookup window means each video is picked up exactly once, without needing a database to track what has already been posted.

For each new video, OpenAI's chat model (GPT-3.5 Turbo) writes a concise, attention-grabbing post under 140 characters based on the video's title and description. The workflow then publishes the text together with the video link through the X API using OAuth credentials.

The whole automation is only five nodes, which makes it easy to understand, import and adapt — for example, by changing the polling frequency, adjusting the prompt to match a channel's voice, or adding further platforms.
